Greg Philbrick	Title : Optimal Transport Abstract: I dip briefly into this voluminous subject, ideally long enough for someone to retain enough grasp of it to discern its relevance to their particular work in the near or medium term future. After a nod to the history of the subject, I'll demonstrate an application in the context of the 2000 paper The Earth Mover's Distance as a Metric for Image Retrieval.
