Title : A Few Methods for Fitting Circles to Data
Abstract: In my CNC machining work joint with mechanical engineering, we devised a method of machining radiused inserts. To test that our method worked, we sampled points along cross sections of the inserts, and fit circles to this data. In this talk, I'll review a paper in the literature that compares five methods for fitting a circle to a set of points, and compare three of the methods on our CNC data. |
