TPTITLE:Towards ground truth in geometric textures
TPABSTRACT:Two-dimensional geometric texture synthesis is the geometric analogue<nl>of the field of raster-based texture synthesis. An absence of<nl>conventional evaluation procedures in recent synthesis attempts demands<nl>an inquiry into the visual significance of synthesized results.<nl>The goal of this work is to emphasize the importance of visual preferences<nl>in the process of deciding geometric texture similarity. To<nl>this end, our research provides a firm perceptual foundation from which<nl>future geometric researchers can develop and subsequently assess their<nl>algorithm's success.<nl>
