Title : Enhancing Interactions with Visual Sensory Substitution
Abstract:
We are concerned with augmenting manual interactions in virtual environments with visual cues for sensory substitution. The goal is to add visual feedback to supply missing information about depth, contact versus no contact, texture, etc. But we do not want to take away from the primary visuals. Can we use aspects of natural phenomena, like shadows and mutual illumination, to do this?
