Title : Prettier Shadows
Abstract: Shadow maps are a commonly-used real-time shadowing algorithm, but unfortunately they suffer from heavy aliasing artifacts. Variance shadow maps (VSMs) address these artifacts and provide a basis from which to build high quality, antialiased shadow algorithms. This presentation briefly discusses the basic algorithm and outlines several improvements that can be made using VSMs as a building block. |
