I covered some of the biological features involve in pitch perception. Most of my talk focussed on the outer and inner ears' machinery. This week, I'd like to go deeper inside the brain. I'd like to discuss the cognitive mechanisms accountable for our musical tastes: what makes our brain prefer a piece of music to another? I will adopt a cognitive neuropsychological view.
