Title: Counting states
Abstract: When group theory is used to provide an abstract model of the affordances of a user interface we get the counter-intuitive result that the number of states in an interface strongly determines its possible structures. This talk will discuss how states are counted, showing that the result is exactly what we expect, and not counter-intuitive at all, preparing us to take advantage of the complete classification of the finite groups. |
