Title: Tilings of Polyominoes
Abstract: My current area of research involves computational investigation of the tiling properties of polyominoes. In this talk, I will introduce polyominoes (and related shapes such as polyhexes and polyiamonds), cover some of the history of enumeration problems related to these shapes, explain what sort of problems in tiling theory can be attacked through an exhaustive exploration of polyomino tilings, and give some details of what has been done and what I am working on. |
