Title GUI Park: A Shared Medium for Interaction Design Abstract
Volunteer-driven open source projects are increasingly interested in
making their software usable by the average computer user. However,
their tools and methods for conducting HCI-related activities are
still in their infancy. In this talk, I will provide an overview of
existing methods used to conduct interaction design in the open source
community, highlight some shortcomings, then introduce GUI Park, a
research environment we are building to explore alternative means of
conducting interaction design in the loosely knit, distributed world
of open source development.
