A novel trust model for Peer-to-Peer systems.

Abstract:
eBay, an online auction system, introduced a feedback system, which assigns trust value to participants, so as to increase trust and trustworthiness in the community. Feedback represents a publicly available prediction of the future behaviour of a potential partner, which is fundamental in environments where partners change and are often unknown. We modelled a new trust mechanism, especially adapted to the needs of peer-to-peer systems, where the goods exchanged are digital and duplicable at no cost.
