Title: The Language, err... User Interface

Abstract: I outline my conception of the user interface (UI) as a language, and draw parallels between children's language

learning and program learning. I give my motivations and talk about how I hope to use this metaphor, along with the help

given to children in the form of `motherese', to try and improve the learnability of UIs.
