Title: Per-Pixel Displacement with Distance Mapping
Abstract:
Displacement mapping is a technique used to add small-scale
detail by perturbing a base geometry, usually using a height field. I
will be presenting a chapter from the upcoming "GPU Gems 2" book written
by UW student Will Donnelly, illustrating how to implement displacement
mapping efficiently on the graphics card using a technique called
distance mapping.
