Title: Exposing Admission-controlled Realtime in Java through Constraint Blocks

Abstract: In Microsoft's Rialto research operating system, applicationsspecify their realtime constraints through a primitive called the ``constraint block''.The constraint block provides a possible mechanism to bridge the gapbetween thread-style tasks and performer-style tasks. This talkexplores an architecture for a realtime Java virtual machine that usesconstraint blocks for this purpose: scheduling constraint-block enclosedsections of Java code as performers in a LiquiMedia framework.
