Title: Rendering Cloth
Abstract:
Much attention has been given in the graphics literature to the geometric
representation and motion of cloth. Relatively little attention has been
given to reflection from cloth. I will provide a brief background and a
summary of the methods that have been presented in the graphics literature
for the simulation of the interaction of light with fabrics.
5. General Discussion Items
-
DC1304 not available for lab meeting on: June 2, June 16, June 23, Aug 25. Please keep this until that time.
-
Stefanus is Mr. Web this term. He'd like to give the CGL website an
overhaul.
Some things to consider:
- In general, pretty much everything needs updating
- What sections do we want on the webpage?
- What areas of research do we want to present as active areas in the
lab? Should we have a section for past research?
- We need recent images for the gallery
- Would we like a redesign of the layout? Stefanus is willing to make a
prototype, and other design suggestions (as HTML mockups) are welcome
- Should we use some form other than direct HTML to set up the webpage?
Stefanus has used XML with XSLT in the past with good success on the
CSC (and his personal) webpage. This could make formatting more
consistent and would hopefully separate content and layout.
- Should we set up a wiki? If so, should we move some stuff, e.g. the
lab agendas and meeting minutes to such a forum? This may make
editing easier.
- Whatever else you can think of
6. Action List
-
Tibi is lab manager this term. Possible things we need to get
done:
- LDAP,
- dual-booting of Linux machines,
- workstation rearrangement and lab rewiring.
