Title: Emotion and Cognition
Abstract:
Does thinking elicit emotion or emotion elicit thinking? I will talk
about some of the theories about the relationship between emotion and
thought. I will start with some historical views on the two and move on
to more recent theories by Antonio Damasio (author of "Descartes'
Error") and UW's Paul Thagard. If there's time I may discuss how these
theories can help to rationalize the behaviour of the mood disorders
Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
