Title: | Vortex Detection Using Geometric Algebra |
Abstract: | The problem of detecting vortices in vector fields has been a critical problem in fields such as aerodynamics and other applications of fluid mechanics. This is largely because, for example, in aerodynamics, vortices left in the wake of an object moving at a high velocity may cause much structural damage, via turbulence, to trailing objects (including other vehicles). In this presentation, I present a method of detecting vortices in sampled vector fields by using a powerful tool called Geometric Algebra. |
