- Title:
- Augmented Reality
- Abstract:
- Over the past few years, virtual reality has attracted a great deal of
media attention. The idea behind virtual reality is to immerse the user in
an imaginary, computer generated "virtual world". The drawback to this technology
is that the user is totally cut off from the real world. In this talk, I will
speak about a topic that finds a middle ground between what is virtual and
real, namely "augmented reality". I will examine its applications and the
challenges that it faces in the hopes of motivating the audience to further
investigation of the area.
