Title:

Maverik

Abstract:

Maverik was designed at the University of Manchester to aid in the creation of virtual environments. Maverik provides a framework that takes much of the grunt work out of designing display and interaction routines for the virtual environment. Fine-tuning of the system can be accomplished by supplying user-defined callbacks.

I will give a very brief overview of the Maverik system as well as an introduction to a few applications that have been developed using Maverik.

6. General Discussion Items

• (Ian Stewart not here to discuss lab rescheduling, so we'll stick with Thursdays at 3:30 for now)
• Blair will be away from June 30 to July 16. Problems ouring this period may be resolved by talking to the person with the relevant lab duty, or by talking to Patrick.

7. Action List

• Cleaning up the new junk in the lab (Blair). Unwanted copies of tech reports and some office supplies are around if people want to clain them.

8. Director's Meeting

• new shelves may turn up
• we'll pitch some outdated documentation and copies of old tech reports
• new cabling will start after Blair returns on July 16
