Title:

Metamorphosis of the Cube

Abstract:

This talk will describe and show a video we made called "Metamorphosis of the Cube." It consists of several animations of foldings and unfoldings of polyhedra, with a focus on those related to the cube. In particular, I will show all the polyhedra you can make by refolding the "cross" unfolding of the cube. I will describe the background behind the ideas, and the making of the video.

This joint work with Martin Demaine, Anna Lubiw, Joseph O'Rourke, and Irena Pashchenko.
