Title:
Optimal Polynomial Composition
Polynomial composition can be used to solve many problems in CAGD, including evaluation, subdivision, and freeform deformation. For CAGD applications, we typically express our functions in the Bezier/B-spline form. In this talk, I will derive a lower bound for the runtime of polynomial composition algorithms for functions in Bezier form, and give an algorithm that nearly achieves this runtime.
