Title:
Designing with Micro-Architectures
Abstract:
There is a growing interest among software researchers in identifying and cataloging recurring patterns in software architecture. These styles have been called "idioms" and "micro-architectures". There is interest in studying micro-architectures for several reasons: so that larger chunks of code may be reused, so that systems can be understood at higher levels of abstraction, and so that software designers can design with larger chunks.

This talk will survey some recent work in micro-architectures and will discuss their (possible) historical significance.
