However the cause and solution to this negative emotional response (the uncanny valley) is not well defined. Amongst artists, it is suggested that eye and skin movement of a character's face are the most important factors in eliciting positive emotional response. New developments in motion capture and synthesis aim to capture realistic dynamics and appearance to bring human-like character creation out of the chasm.
